Aftrak
Empowering communities through sustainable agricultural innovation
Ronella Group is proud to be working closely with the team behind Aftrak, an award-winning initiative developed by Professors Dr Jonathan Wilson and Dr Toby Williams at Loughborough University. Their solar-powered microgrid and micro-tractor system has already transformed farming conditions for smallholder communities in East Africa, and we are excited to support the expansion of this groundbreaking technology.
Our role in supporting Aftrak’s mission
Aftrak’s solar rotavator system increases crop yields by up to three-fold and provides clean, reliable electricity through decentralised solar microgrids. As Ronella expands its footprint in Africa, we are integrating Aftrak machinery and technology into our planned agricultural and community developments.
This includes:
-
Working with Aftrak’s founders to understand deployment needs, logistics, and local support structures
-
Exploring opportunities to introduce Aftrak machinery into our upcoming African projects
-
Evaluating distribution pathways that enable wider access to these machines across rural communities
-
Building relationships with on-the-ground agencies recommended by Aftrak to help identify priority regions
Our intention is to help accelerate the rollout of this life-changing technology, whether through direct project integration, supported deployment and future retail distribution as Aftrak expands its global reach.
A growing presence in Africa
Aftrak machines are already operating successfully in Malawi, delivering measurable improvements in farming efficiency, soil health, and access to renewable energy. Their presence provides a credible foundation for Ronella’s own expansion into African sustainability and agricultural projects.
Work with us globally
Ronella is now building partnerships globally to support the rollout of Aftrak’s award-winning agricultural and renewable energy systems. Whether you are a project developer, community leader, NGO or commercial partner, we would be delighted to discuss how this technology could support your region.
